Terminology:
st = stitch
sts = stitches
CH = chain stitch
HDC = half double crochet
HDC3Shell – HDC 3 in one stitch
HDC3tog = HDC 3 together
Instructions:
To begin make 6 chains.
Rnd 1: skip one chain (CH) and make HDC in the second CH. Make HDC in every chain across. Total 5 HDCs.
Rnd 2: CH one and turn. Make HDC in every stitch across. Total 5 HDCs.
Rnd 3: In this row increase 2 sts (in the middle of the row)
CH one and turn, HDC one in the next 2 sts, HDC3Shell in the next st. Put the stitch marker in the middle of the Shell, HDC one in the last 2 sts. Total 7 sts.
Rnd 4: CH one and turn. Make HDC in every stitch across. Put the stitch marker in the middle of the row. Total 7 HDCs.
We will increase 2 stitches in every second row (in the middle of the row)
Rnd 5: In this row increase 2 sts (in the middle of the row)
CH one and turn, HDC one in the next 3 sts, HDC3Shell in the next st. Put the stitch marker in the middle of the Shell, HDC one in the last 3 sts. Total 9 sts.
Rnd 6: CH one and turn. Make HDC in every stitch across. Put the stitch marker in the middle of the row. Total 9 HDCs.
Rnd 7: In this row increase 2 sts (in the middle of the row)
CH one and turn, HDC one in the next 4 sts, HDC3Shell in the next st. Put the stitch marker in the middle of the Shell. HDC one in the last 4 sts. Total 11 sts.

Now we will decrease 2 stitches in every second row (in the middle of the row)
Rnd 26: CH one and turn, HDC one in the next 10 sts, HDC3tog in the next st, HDC one in the last 10 sts.
Rnd 27: CH one and turn. Make HDC in every stitch across. Total 21 HDCs.
Rnd 28: CH one and turn, HDC one in the next 9 sts, HDC3tog in the next st, HDC one in the last 9 sts.
