386 – Crochet Baby Blanket with an Easy Block Stitches Pattern

You can see Step by step instructions and a video tutorial on how to crochet an easy baby blanket using a block stitch pattern.
To crochet this pattern, you will need to know how to crochet the next stitches: chain stitch, single crochet stitch, and double crochet stitch.
This crochet pattern is a repetition of 2 rows only.

You will need:

Total Yarn 400g / 780 m / 852 yds
One skein: 100 g / 195 m / 213 yds
Hook Size 6 mm (US J10, UK 4)
Hook Size 5 mm (US H8, UK 6)

Terminology:

st – stitch
sts – stitches
CH – chain stitch
SC – single crochet stitch
DC – double crochet stitch

Size:

Width: 72 cm / 28.2 inches
Length: 85 cm / 33.4 inches

Instruction:

Hook Size 6 mm (US J10, UK 4)
To begin, make 87 chains multiple of 4 + 3

Row 1: Skip 3 chains and make one double crochet stitch in the fourth chain. Make one DC in each chain across.
Row 2: CH one and turn, make SC in the first stitch, *CH 3, skip 3 sts, SC *repeat this process;
Row 3: CH 3 and turn, DC 4 in the first chain three space, *DC 4 in the next chain three space *repeat the entire row except for the last stitch; DC in the last st
Row 4: CH one and turn; make SC in the first stitch, CH 3, *SC between two shells, CH 3, *repeat this process; SC in the last st.

Pattern = Rows 3 – 4
Continue repeating Rows 3 – 4, until you measure it to be 75 cm / 29.5 inches

Last Row: CH 3, DC 3 in the next chain three space, DC over SC, *DC 3 in the next chain three space, DC over SC *repeat entire row

Now we continue to make SC stitches around our work.
Hook Size 5 mm (US H8, UK 6)
Rnd 1: make SC stitches 2+1+2+1+2+1+2+1……Make SC + CH + SC in the corner (in all four corners)
I’m going to make 5 rounds in total. Make the corners in the same way (SC+chain+SC)
Last round: SC3, CH2,*SC3, CH2 *repeat to the next corner;
Now we are going to make a bow
Make chains (about 30 cm / 12 inches)
Skip the chain and make slip stitches in each chain across.
Tie these two ends of the yarn

I finished this blanket. If you like it, you can make it and give it away.
