You will need:
You can use any yarn and hook you have or love.
Terminology:
st – stitch
sts – stitches
CH – chain stitch
DC – double crochet stitch (yarn over the hook once)
TC – treble crochet stitch (yarn over the hook twice)
Shell – TC4Shell with chain (TC 2 + CH + TC 2 in one space)
Instruction:
To begin, chain 22 or any multiple of 8 + 6
Row 1: skip 3 chains and make a double crochet stitch (DC) in the fourth chain; DC in every chain across.
Row 2: CH 2 and turn, DC one in the next 4 stitches, *CH 5, skip 4 sts, DC 4 *repeat to the end of the row. Change the color yarn.
Row 3: CH 2 and turn, DC 4, *skip 2 DCs and make shell just one row down, DC 4 *repeat to the end of the row.
Row 4: CH 2 and turn, DC 4, *CH 5, skip Shell, DC 4 *repeat to the end of the row. Change the color yarn.
Row 5: CH 2 and turn, DC 4, *make a shell in the middle of the shell one row down, DC 4 *repeat to the end of the row.
Row 6: CH 2 and turn, DC 4, *CH 5, skip Shell, DC 4 *repeat to the end of the row. Change the color yarn.
Pattern = Rows 5 – 6
Repeat Pattern
Change the color yarn every two rows.
Last Row: After the shell row, make DC stitches. We skip the shell chain.
