379 – How to crochet an easy card holder for a gift

You will need:

Ball (50g) contains 115 m / 126 yds
One ball is enough for two pieces
Hook Size 3.5 mm (US E/4, UK 9)

Terminology:

st – stitch
sl.st – slip stitch
CH – chain stitch
SC – single crochet stitch

Instruction:

To begin make 19 chains (8,5 cm / 3.3 inches)

Row 1: Skip the chain and make SC in the second chain. Make one SC in each chain across. Total 18 SC stitches

Row 2: CH one and turn. Make one SC in each stitch across. Total 18 SC stitches

Continue to repeat Row 2, until you measure it to be 27 cm/10.6 inches
Width: about 8,5 cm / 3.3 inches

Now we continue to make SC stitches around our work.
Row 1: Make SC in a corner. Continue to make SC stitches. One SC – One row. Make SC one more in every corner.
Row 2: CH one and continue to make SC stitches around. Make SC two more in every corner.

Turn and fold your work in half.
Put a marker halfway through your work, on both sides.
