You can see step by step instructions and video tutorials on how to crochet an adult beanie. The pattern is very easy to make. Even a beginner can do it. This is an adult beanie. But, I will show you how to make different sizes.
Get colorful yarn to make the cap interesting as the pattern is very simple.

You will need:
Total Yarn approximately 100 g / 210 m/ 230 yds
Weight #3 or Light yarn
Hook Size 5 mm (US H/8, UK 6)
Size: Adult
Width: 25 cm / 9.6 in
Length: 21,5 cm / 8.3 in
Terminology:
st – stitch
sl.st. – slip stitch
Rnd – Round/Row
Incr – increase
CH – chain stitch
DC – double crochet st
SC – single crochet stitch
Instructions:
To begin, make 4 chains. Make a slip stitch to close the round.
Rnd 1: CH 2, DC 12 into the center of the ring, Slip stitch to the first st just to close the round. Total 12 DCs
Rnd 2: (incr 12 sts) CH 2, DC 2 in every stitch across; Slip stitch to the first st just to close the round.
Total 24 DCs
Rnd 3: (incr 12 sts) CH 2, *DC, DC 2 in one stitch *repeat the entire row; Slip stitch to the first st just to close the round.
Total 36 DCs
Rnd 4: (incr 12 sts) CH 2, *DC 2, DC 2 in one st. *repeat the entire row; Slip stitch to the first st just to close the round. Total 48 DCs
Rnd 5: (incr 12 sts) CH 2, *DC 3, DC 2 in one st. *repeat the entire row; Slip stitch to the first st just to close the round. Total 60 DCs
The diameter of these first 5 rows is about 15 cm / 6 inches. It is for children aged 3 – 10 years.
I’ll do one more row.
Rnd 6: (incr 12 sts) CH 2, *DC 4, DC 2 in one st. *repeat the entire row; Slip stitch to the first st just to close the round. Total 72 DCs
The diameter of these first 6 rows is about 17,5 cm / 7 inches. It is M size beanie for adults.
For size L, make one more, seventh round in which you will add stitches.
Rnd 7: (No more increase) CH2 and make DC one in every stitch across. Slip stitch to the first st just to close the round.
Repeat Rnd 7 until you measure about 20cm / 8 inches / 17 rnds
If you need a different size, make more or fewer rows.
Rnd 18: Now, we are going to make single crochet stitches (do backward)
CH one and make one SC in each stitch across.
