You will need:
Total Yarn 75 g / 195 m/ 213 yds (medium)
Ball (50g) contains 130 m/ 142 yds (medium)
Hook Size 5 mm (US H/8, UK 6)
Hook Size 5.5 mm (US I/9, UK 5)
Size: adult
Width: 24 cm / 9.4 in
Length: 22 cm / 8.6 in
Terminology:
st – stitch
sts – stitches
sl.st. – slip stitch
Rnd – Round/Row
Incr – increase
CH – chain stitch
SC – single crochet st
DC – double crochet st
Instructions:
Hook Size 5 mm (US H/8, UK 6)
To begin, make 4 chains. Make a slip stitch to close the round.
Rnd 1: CH 2, DC 12 into the center of the ring, Slip stitch to the first st just to close the round. Total 12 DCs
Rnd 2: (incr 12 sts) CH 2, DC 2 in every stitch across; Slip stitch to the first st just to close the round.
Total 24 DCs
Rnd 3: (incr 12 sts) CH 2, *DC, DC 2 in one stitch *repeat entire row; Slip stitch to the first st just to close the round.
Total 36 DCs
Rnd 4: (incr 12 sts) CH 2, *DC 2, DC 2 in one st. *repeat entire row; Slip stitch to the first st just to close the round. Total 48 DCs
Rnd 5: (incr 12 sts) CH 2, *DC 3, DC 2 in one st. *repeat entire row; Slip stitch to the first st just to close the round. Total 60 DCs
Rnd 6: (incr 12 sts) CH 2, *DC 4, DC 2 in one st. *repeat entire row; Slip stitch to the first st just to close the round. Total 72 DCs
Rnd 7: (incr 6 sts) CH, *SC 5, SC 2 in one st, SC 11, SC 2 in one st *repeat this process; SC 6; Total 78 SCs
Hook Size 5.5 mm (US I/9, UK 5)
Rnd 8: Put a stitch marker in the first stitch to know where the row starts. Make SC in every stitch across. Total 78 SCs
Repeat Rnd 8 until you measure 22 cm
If you need a different size, make more or fewer rows.
Rnd 1: CH 3, skip st, *DC, CH, skip st *repeat this process; Slip stitch to the first st just to close the round.
Hook Size 5 mm (US H/8, UK 6)
Rnd 2 – 4: CH2, DC in every stitch across; Total 78 SCs. Slip stitch to the first st just to close the round.
