347 – Quick and Easy Crochet Colorful Fingerless Gloves for Beginners

You will need:
Total Yarn about 50 g / 100 m/ 109 yds (medium)
Hook Size 5 mm (US H/8, UK 6)

Size: Adult

Terminology:
st – stitch
sts – stitches
CH – chain stitch
SC – single crochet
HDCBLO – half double crochet back loop only
SCBLO – single crochet back loop only

Instructions:

First I’m going to use gray-colored yarn.
To begin make 31 chains.
Row 1: skip chain and make SC in every chain across. Total 30 SCs.

Now switch to a red-colored yarn.
Row 2: CH and turn; make SC in the back loop only (SCBLO) in the next 12 sts; make HDC in the back loop only (HDCBLO) in the next 18 sts; Total 30 sts.
Row 3: CH and turn, SCBLO in every stitch across. Total 30 sts.

Continue repeat Rows 2 – 3, to be a total of 23 rows
Row 24 (last row): use gray-colored yarn; chain and make SC in every stitch across

Changing colors

Row 1: gray – colored yarn
Rows 2 – 3: red-colored yarn
Rows 4 – 5: blue-colored yarn

Row 6 – 7: gray – colored yarn
Rows 8 – 9: red-colored yarn
Rows 10 – 11: blue-colored yarn

Keep changing colors in this way.
Row 24 (last row): gray–colored yarn
The gloves ribbed pattern is very stretchy.
If you need a different size, make more or fewer rows. Measure on your hands.

Sew first and the last row with slip stitches. Leave a hole for the thumb.

Edge – around the thumb (gray–colored yarn)
Make one row of single crochet stitches.

Edges – top and bottom of gloves (gray–colored yarn)
Make one row of single crochet stitches.
