338 – How to Crochet Beanie – Super Quick Gifts

You can see step by step instructions and video tutorials on how to crochet an adult beanie. This is a very simple crochet pattern and easy to make. It’s extremely soft and comfortable.

You will need:

Total Yarn 50 g / 130 m/ 142 yds (medium)
Hook Size 5 mm (US H/8, UK 6)

Size: adult
Width: 24 cm / 9.4 in
Length: 21 cm / 8.2 in

Terminology:
st – stitch
sts – stitches
sl.st. – slip stitch
Rnd – Round/Row
CH – chain stitch
SC – single crochet st
DC – double crochet st

Instructions:

To begin, make a magic ring.

Rnd 1: 2 chains and make 14 double crochet sts (DC) into the center of the ring; Slip stitch to the first st just to close the round; Total 14 DCs.
Rnd 2: CH 2 (don’t count as a loop), DC 2 in the first stitch, DC 2 in every stitch across; Slip stitch to the first st just to close the round. Total 28 DCs.
Rnd 3: CH one and make 28 SC stitches. Slip stitch to the first st just to close the round. Total 28 SCs.
Rnd 4: CH 2 (don’t count as a loop), DC in the first stitch, DC 2 in the next st, *DC, DC 2 *repeat this process entire row; Slip stitch to the first st just to close the round. Total 42 DCs.
Rnd 5: CH one and make 42 SC stitches. Slip stitch to the first st just to close the round. Total 42 SCs.
Rnd 6: CH 2 (don’t count as a loop), DC in the next two stitches, DC 2 in one st, *DC in the next two stitches, DC 2 in one stitch *repeat this process entire row; Slip stitch to the first st just to close the round. Total 56 DCs.
Rnd 7: CH one and make 56 SC stitches. Slip stitch to the first st just to close the round. Total 56 SCs.
Rnd 8: CH 2 (don’t count as a loop), DC in the next 3 sts, DC 2 in one st, *DC in the next 3 stitches, DC 2 in one stitch *repeat this process entire row; Slip stitch to the first st just to close the round. Total 70 DCs.
Rnd 9: CH one and make 70 SC stitches. Slip stitch to the first st just to close the round. Total 70 SCs.

In the following rows, we repeat the same number of stitches (70 stitches)

Rnd 10: CH 2 (don’t count as a loop), Skip the first stitch and make DC in the next stitch. Then, make DC in the skipped stitch work in front of the previous stitch. Repeat this process entire row. Slip stitch to the first st just to close the round.
Rnd 11: CH 2 (don’t count as a loop), DC in every stitch across; Slip stitch to the first st just to close the round. Total 70 DCs.
Rnd 12: CH one and make SC in every stitch across. Slip stitch to the first st just to close the round. Total 70 SCs.

Pattern = rows 10, 11 and 12
Continue repeat pattern, to be a total of 21 rows

Rnds 22 – 23: CH one and make 70 SC stitches.

If you need a different size, make more or fewer rows.
