Gloves edging
First, I’m going to make gloves edging. (Ribbed pattern)
To begin make 13 chains.
Row 1: skip chain and make SC in every chain across. Total 12 SCs.
Row 2: CH and turn; make SC in the back loop only (SCBLO) in every stitch across; Total 12 SCs
Row 3: CH and turn; make SCBLO in every stitch across; Total 12 SCs
Continue repeat Row 2, to be a total of 24 rows (multiple of 2)
Gloves edging is very stretchy
If you need a different size, make more or fewer rows. Measure on your hands.
Sew first and the last row with slip stitches.
Now, we’re going to crochet around the gloves edging.
Rnd 1: I will make single crochet stitches (SC). One row one loop (24 rows = 24 SC stitches)
Rnd 2: CH 2 (don’t count as a loop), DC in the first stitch, DC in every stitch across; Slip stitch to the first st just to close the round. Total 24 DCs.
Rnd 3: CH, SC in every stitch across; Slip stitch to the first st just to close the round. Total 24 SCs.
Rnd 4: In this row add 2 more stitches (one loop at the beginning and one at the end of the row). CH 2 (don’t count as a loop), DC 2 in the first stitch; Skip stitch one and make DC in the next stitch. Then, make DC in the skipped stitch work in front of the previous stitch. Repeat this process entire row except for the last stitch. DC 2 in the last stitch. Slip stitch to the first st just to close the round. Total 26 SCs.
Rnd 5: In this row add 2 more stitches (one loop at the beginning and one at the end of the row). CH 2, DC 2 in the first stitch; DC in every stitch across except for the last stitch; DC 2 in the last stitch. Slip stitch to the first st just to close the round. Total 28 SCs.
Rnd 6: CH, SC in every stitch across; Slip stitch to the first st just to close the round. Total 28 SCs.
Rnd 7: In this row add 2 more stitches (one loop at the beginning and one at the end of the row). Total 30 SCs.
Rnd 8: In this row add 2 more stitches (one loop at the beginning and one at the end of the row). CH 2, DC 2 in the first stitch; DC in every stitch across except for the last stitch; DC 2 in the last stitch. Total 32 DCs.
Thumbhole
Rnd 1: CH, SC 6. Put the stitch marker on the sixth loop from the back of the previous row. Do these 6 stitches (6 SC stitches). Total 12 SCs. Slip stitch to the first st just to close the round.
Rnds 2 – 5: CH, SC in every stitch across; Slip stitch to the first st just to close the round. Total 12 SCs.
If you want, make more or fewer rows.
Now, I’ll make the part for the other fingers.
Continue to crochet around.
Rnd 1: CH, SC in every stitch across. Make 20 SC sts plus 4 SC sts in a corner near the Thumbhole. Total 24 sts
Rnd 2: CH 2 (don’t count as a loop), Skip stitch one and make DC in the next stitch. Then, make DC in the skipped stitch work in front of the previous stitch. Repeat this process entire row. Total 24 sts. Slip stitch to the first st just to close the round.
Rnd 3: CH2, DC in every stitch across; Slip stitch to the first st just to close the round. Total 24 DCs.
Rnds 4 – 6: CH, SC in every stitch across; Slip stitch to the first st just to close the round. Total 24 SCs.
If you want, make more or fewer rows.
