329– Easy Crochet Granny Square Slippers Tutorial

You can see Step by step instructions and a video tutorial on how to crochet granny square slippers. Easy to make. I’ll use two colors of yarn, green and white.

You will need:

Yarn 100 g / 260 m / 284 yds
Ball (50g) contains 130 m / 142 yds
green-colored yarn – 50 g
white-colored yarn – 50 g
Hook Size 4 mm (US 6)

Size: Adults – 23 cm / 9 inches

Size of shoes:
EUR & CN = 38-40
US = 6.5 – 7.5
UK = 4.5 – 5.5

Make a square whose side length is equal to the length of your foot.
For longer or shorter slippers, do a few rows more or less.
If you need a different size, make more or fewer rows.

Terminology:

st – stitch
sl.st – slip stitch
Rnd / Row – round / row
CH – chain stitch
SC – single crochet stitch
DC – double crochet stitch (yarn over the hook once)
Shell = DC3 + CH 3 + DC3 in one space (It’s a corner)

Instructions:

Now use a green-colored yarn.
Start 4 chains in a circle.
Rnd 1: CH 3, DC 2, CH 3, DC 3, CH 3, DC 3, CH 3, DC 3. CH 2; Slip stitch to that first st just to close the round.

Make sl.st. in the next 2 stitches.
Switch to a white-colored yarn.
Make sl.st in the chains space.

Rnd 2:
CH 3 + DC 2 + CH 3 + DC 3 in the chains space (This is the first corner)
Make Shell in the next chains space. DC3 + CH 3 + DC3 (This is the second corner)
Make Shell in the next chains space. DC3 + CH 3 + DC3 (This is the third corner)
Make Shell in the next chains space. DC3 + CH 3 + DC3 (This is the fourth corner)
Slip stitch to that first st just to close the round.
Make sl.st. in the next 2 stitches.

Switch to a green-colored yarn.
Make sl.st in the chains space.

Rnd 3:
CH 3 + DC 2 + CH 3 + DC 3 in the first corner
DC 3 in the next space
Make Shell in the second corner. DC3 + CH 3 + DC 3
DC 3 in the next space
Make Shell in the third corner. DC3 + CH 3 + DC3
DC 3 in the next space
Make Shell in the fourth corner. DC3 + CH 3 + DC3
DC 3 in the next space
Slip stitch to that first st just to close the round.
Make sl.st. in the next 2 stitches.

Switch to a white-colored yarn.
Make sl.st in the chains space.

Rnd 4:
CH 3 + DC 2 + CH 3 + DC 3 in the first corner
DC 3 in the next 2 spaces,
Make Shell in the second corner. DC3 + CH 3 + DC 3
DC 3 in the next 2 spaces,
Make Shell in the third corner. DC3 + CH 3 + DC3
DC 3 in the next 2 spaces,
Make Shell in the fourth corner. DC3 + CH 3 + DC3
DC 3 in the next 2 spaces,
Slip stitch to that first st just to close the round.
Make sl.st. in the next 2 stitches.

Switch to a green-colored yarn.
Make sl.st in the chains space.

Repeat this process in the same way, to be a total of 9 rows.
Change the color of the yarn every other row. Odd rows are made in green and even rows in white-colored yarn.
Make a square whose side length is equal to the length of your foot.
For longer or shorter slippers, do a few rows more or less.

I made 9 rows: 23 cm / 9 inches

Thread the needle with yarn through the top of the slipper.
Then, pull the yarn as tight as you can and tie it in a knot.
Then, close the two sides together.
Sew with yarn and sewing needle.
You have to determine how big you want the opening to be.
Sew heel with yarn and sewing needle.

You can put some decoration on top. I’ll put on a Pom Pom.
