323 – SIMPLE CROCHET SUMMER BLOUSE TUTORIAL

You can see Step by step instructions and a video tutorial on how to crochet a nice summer top with short sleeves. Easy to make. I used two patterns. You can easily customize a blouse to your liking.

You will need:

Yarn 200 g / 840 m / 916 yds
Ball (50g) contains 210 m / 229 yds
Hook Size 3.5 mm (US 4)

Size: M
Width = 43 cm / 17 in
Length = 51 cm / 20 in

Different sizes:

S = 78 chains
M = 87 chains
L = 99 chains
XL = 111 chains
XXL = 120 chains

Multiple of 3 for all sizes

Terminology:
st – stitch
sl.st – slip stitch
CH – chain stitch
SC – single crochet stitch
DC – double crochet stitch (yarn over the hook once)

Instructions:

FRONT

To begin, chain 87 or any multiple of 3
If you need a different size, feel free to either add or subtract from the chain number.
You can easily customize a blouse to your liking.

Pattern 1

Row 1: Skip 3 chains (CH) and make one double crochet stitch (DC) in each chain across.
Total of 85 sts. (multiple of 3 plus 1 stitch)
Row 2: chain one and make SC in the first stitch. Make one SC in each stitch across. Total 85 SC.
Continue repeat rows 1 – 2 in the same way, to be a total of 6 rows.

Pattern 2

Row 7: CH 5, skip 2 sts, slip stitch in the next st., *CH 5, skip 2 sts, sl.st *repeat this process
Row 8: CH 5, sl.st. in the middle of the chain space, *CH 5, sl.st. in the middle of the chain space *repeat this process
Rows 9 – 12: repeat Row 8

Pattern 1

Row 13: CH 3, *DC 3 into the chain space *repeat this process
Row 14: chain one and make SC in the first stitch. Make one SC in each stitch across. Total 85 SC.
Row 15: CH 3 and make one DC in each stitch across. Total of 85 sts.
Row 16: CH one and make SC in each stitch across. Total 85 SC.

Continue repeat rows 15 – 16 in the same way, to be a total of 56 rows.
If you want, you can make more rows to make the top longer.

When you making a row of DC, it’s on the right side.
When you making a row of SC, it’s on the wrong side.

Row 57: In this row, we will add 12 loops at the beginning and 12 loops at the end of the row.
Make chain 14; skip 3 chains and make one double crochet stitch in each chain across. Total 12 sts (DC 11 and CH 3 like one stitch). Then, continue to make DC over SC. Add another 12 DCs at the end of the row. Total 109 stitches (12 + 85 + 12)
Row 58: chain one and make one SC in each stitch across. Total 109 SC.
Rows 59 – 60: repeat rows 57-58 once

Pattern 2

Row 61: (as row 7) CH 5, skip 2 sts, slip stitch in the next st., *CH 5, skip 2 sts, sl.st *repeat this process
Row 62: (as row 8) CH 5, sl.st. in the middle of the chain space, *CH 5, sl.st. in the middle of the chain space *repeat this process
Rows 63 – 80: repeat Row 62
Row 81: CH 3, *DC 3 into the chain space *repeat this process
Row 82: CH one and make SC in each stitch across. Total 109 SC.

FRONT is done

Both parts of the blouse are the same. FRONT = BACK
Count 14 cm / 5.5 in from the end of the row and put the stitch marker. Use your yarn and sew two pieces together at the shoulder.
Sew on the right side.

Use your yarn and sew two pieces together.

Edges of Sleeves

Row 1: CH and make one SC in each stitch across. Slip stitch to that first SC just to close the round. If you need, you can make more stitches to make the sleeve wider.
Row 2: CH 3 and make one DC in each stitch across.
Row 3: CH and make one SC in each stitch across.
