On this page, you can see step by step instruction and a video tutorial on how to crochet an adult hat. This is an easy hat tutorial.

To do this You will need:

I used 2 balls of cotton yarn (100 g / 170 m / 186 yds)
Brand: Rico
Rico Creative Cotton Aran
Ball Weight: 50g (1.8oz)
Yarn Length: 85m (93yds)
Stitches per 10cm: 18sts x 24rows
Machine wash at 30º | do not bleach | cool iron | may be dry cleaned | do not tumble dry
Hook Size 5 mm (US 8)
If you make a hat with pom you need 150 g of yarn.

Terminology:
st – stitch
CH – chain stitch
SC – single crochet
DC – double crochet (yarn over the hook once)

Size: Adult
Width: 23cm / 9 inches
Length: 24 cm / 9.4 inches

This is an adult hat and you can easily adjust it to your size

Instructions:
Ribbed pattern
Leave yarn approximately 30 cm / 12 inches of sewing
Make 11 chains.
Row 1: skip chain and make single crochet (SC) in each of the next 10 chains, Total 10 SC. Turn your work.
Row 2: CH one and make SC in the first stitch, SC in the back loops only in the next 9 stitches; Total 10 SCs
Rows 3 – 67: repeat Row 2
Row multiple of 3 + 1 (because of the pattern we are going to do)
If you need a different size, make more or fewer rows (row multiple of 3 + 1).
Connect the first and the last row with a slip stitch.

We continue to work in a circle
Rnd 1: We’ll make 67 SCs in a circle. One row one stitch (67 rows / 67 SCs).
Chain and make SC 67. Total 67 SC sts (multiple of 3+1). Join with a slip stitch.
Rnd 2: CH 3, DC 2 in the first st, skip 2 sts, *SC + DC 2 in the next st, skip 2 sts. *repeat entire row; skip 2 sts and make SC in the last stitch. Join with a slip stitch.
Rnd 3: CH and make SC in the first st, skip 2 sts, *DC 2 + SC in the next st, skip 2 sts *repeat entire row; skip 2 sts and make DC 3 in the last stitch. Join with a slip stitch.
Rnd 4: CH 3, DC 2 in the first st, skip 2 sts, *SC + DC 2 in the next st, skip 2 sts. *repeat entire row; skip 2 sts and make SC in the last stitch. Join with a slip stitch.
Rnds 3 – 4 = Pattern
Rnd 5 – 18: Repeat Pattern
I made 18 rows. If you need a different size, feel free to either add or subtract from the number of rows.
Length: 22 cm / 8.5 in
In the next rows, will decrease the number of stitches
Rnd 19: CH 3, DC2tog entire row
Rnd 20: CH, SC2tog entire row
Rnd 21: CH, SC2tog entire row
