To do this You will need:
You can use any yarn and hook you have or love.
I used 100 g of red cotton yarn; 50g contains 103 yds/ 95 m
If you make hat with Pom Pom you need 150 g of yarn.
Hook Size 4,5 mm
Scissors
Stitch markers
Sewing needle
Terminology:
st – stitch
CH – chain stitch
SC – single crochet
DC – double crochet (yarn over the hook once)
2 crossed DC – 2 crossed double crochet
Size: Adult
Instructions:
To begin make 35 chains (odd number of chains – multiple of 2 plus 1 for turn). If you need a different size, feel free to either add or subtract from this chain number.
Row 1: skip chain, SC to the end row. Total 34 SC.
Row 2: CH one and make SC in the back loops only in the next 10 stitches; Put the stitch marker in the 10th stitch; Then, we’re going to make crossed stitches to the end row. How to make a crossed stitch? Skip one stitch and make one DC in the next stitch. Then we’re going to make a DC in skipped stitch working behind the previous stitch.
Row 3: CH one and make SC to the stitch marker (24 SC); Now we’re going to make SC in the back loops only in the next 10 stitches; Move the stitch marker to the stitch above; Total 34 SC
Row 4: CH one and make SC in the back loops only in the next 10 stitches; Move the stitch marker to the stitch above; make SC to the end row (24 CH); Total 34 SC
Row 5: CH one and make SC to the stitch marker (24 SC); Now we’re going to make SC in the back loops only in the next 10 stitches; Move the stitch marker to the stitch above;
Do the first row once. Rows 2 – 5 repeat multiple times
Pattern = Rows 2 – 5
Repeat Pattern
I made 72 rows. If you need a different size, feel free to either add or subtract from the number of rows.
It is important for the last two rows to be single crochet stitches.
Continue to do the top of the hat. Make double crochet stitches.
Row 1: First, make 3 chains. DC 2 from the row of crossed st. Then, from the second row of SC, make one DC. Then, DC 2 from the row of Crossed st. And so repeat this process to the end row.
Row 2: CH 3; make DC in every other stitch (DC, skip stitch, DC, skip st, DC, skip st, DC….)
Row 3: repeat Row 2
Sew your hat with sewing needle and yarn.
