215 – Knitting Tutorial Winter Set Cowl and Gloves – Part 2

You can see how to knit a scarf and fingerless gloves using a seed stitches. Seed stitch is made entirely of knits and purls. It’s a great for beginners. You can use any yarn.
You need to know how to knit a basic knit stitches (knit and purl stitches).

You will need:

2 knitting needles size 5 mm
2 knitting needles size 4 mm
Scissors
Tape measure
Sewing needle
Colorful cotton yarn 130 g
One ball (100 g) contains 208 yards / 190 m

Size:
Width = 17 cm / 7 inches Length = 92 cm / 36.2 inches

Terminology:

St – Stitch
K – knit stitch
P – purl stitch

Instructions:

Fingerless Gloves
Take a long amount of yarn (approximately 0.55 yards /0,5 m).
Make 28 loops (Multiple of 4)
Then, you’re going to knit Ribbed pattern.
It’s alternating 2 purl stitches and 2 knit stitches.
Rows 1 – 8: 2 x 2 rib is formed by alternating 2 knit stitches and 2 purl stitches
Then, you’re going to knit seed stitches (10 cm / 4 in). It’s alternating one purl stitch and one knit stitch.
Make a few rows of ribbed pattern.
Sew the glove with a sew needle and leave the thumb hole.

Scarf
Knitting needles size 5 mm
Take a long amount of yarn (approximately 0.55 yards /0,5 m).
Make 29 loops. This pattern has an odd number of stitches.
Then, We’re going to knit seed stitches.
It’s alternating one purl stitch and one knit stitch.

Row 1: *purl stitch, knit stitch, repeat from * to the last stitch
Purl stitch is a last stitch.
First and last stitch in every row = purl stitch

Continue to repeat Row 1
Make a scarf up to 90 cm / 35.5 in and make a hole for the button. Then do a few more rows and finish the scarf.
