171 – How to Crochet a Pillowcase

You can see step by step written instruction and video tutorial how to crochet a pillowcase. I used two colors of yarn (blue and green).
Yarn color changes will occur every round.
You need to know how to crochet Slip Stitch (SSt), Chain Stitch (CH), Single Crochet (SC), Double Crochet (DC), 3 DC in one space (3DC Shell).

You will need:
Size hook 3 mm
Scissors
Tape measure
Sewing needle
Cotton Yarn: 150g  
2 balls of blue cotton yarn and one ball of green cotton yarn. Each ball contains 50g,  137yds/125 m
1 m = 1,0936 jardi (yds)

Size:
Width: 30cm / 12″ Length: 30cm / 12″
Gauge: 21 stitches x 13 rows = 10cm (4″) Square

Terminology:
st – Stitch
sk – Skip
rpt – Repeat
Rnd – Round
SSt – Slip Stitch
CH – Chain Stitch
SC – Single Crochet
DC – Double Crochet
3DCShell – 3 DC in one stitch (space)

Instructions:
Start 61 chains (for larger pillowcase 64, 67, 70, 73 … 91, 94, 97 …)
Rnd 1: Blue color yarn. CH, skip CH, 2 SC in one chain, SC in the next 59 chains, 2 SC in the last chain. There are 63 stitches on one side of the chain. Now we are doing 63 more stitches on the other side of the chain. Total 126 SC (number of stitches must be divisible by 3), tie it together with slip stitch, Drop color blue.
Rnd 2: Change to colore green. 2CH, SC, 2CH, skip 2 st, *SC, 2CH, skip 2 st* repeat entire rnd. Tie it tog with SSt. Total 126 st.
Rnd 3: SSt, Drop color green. Change to colore blue. CH, SSt, 3CH+2DC in one space, *3DCShell* repeat entire rnd. Tie it tog with SSt. Total 126 st (42 shells)
Rnd 4 – 39: Repeat Rnds 2-3
