172 – DIY Tutorial Crochet Triangle Shawl
You can see Step by step instruction and video tutorial how to crochet a triangle shawl. This is a very simple crochet pattern worked primarily using double crochet stitches (DC) and treble crochet stitches (TC).
You need to know how to crochet Chain Stitch (CH), Single Crochet (SC), Double Crochet (DC), Treble Crochet (TC), the crossed treble crochet stitches (crossed TC).

You will need:
Hook Size 4 mm
Scissors
Tape measure
Beige Yarn 300g
3 balls of beige Yarn. Each ball contains 328 yds/ 300 m.
Oz 3.52; Nm 3.00
1 m = 1,0936 jardi (yds)
Size:
Width = 180cm / 71″; Length = 80cm /31,5 “
Terminology:
st – Stitch
sk – Skip
rpt – Repeat
Rnd – Round
ch – Chain Stitch
sc – Single Crochet
dc – Double Crochet
TC – Treble Crochet
4DC Shell with CH-2 space (2 DC+2 CH+2 DC in chains space)
4TC Shell with CH-2 space (2 TC+2 CH+2 TC in chains space)
6TC Shell – 6 DC in one stitch
Instructions:
Start 4 chains in a circle.
Row 1: 3 chains (CH), 3 double crochet stitches (DC), 2 CH, 4 DC, turn your work
Row 2: 3 CH + 2 DC in the first stitch, DC in the next 3 stitches, 4DC Shell with CH-2 space in chains space, DC in the next 3 stitches, 3 DC in the last stitch, turn your work
Row 3: 4 chains + 2 treble crochet (TC) stitches in the first stitch. Then we make crossed TC stitches. Before making the Shell, we are doing one treble crochet stitch. Then we make the Shell (2 TC + 2 chains + 2 TC) on the top of triangle shawl. After the Shell, we make one treble crochet stitch. Then, we are doing crossed TC stitches until the last stitch of the row. We make 3 TC in the last stitch. Turn your work.
In the third row, we make crossed TC stitches. How to make a crossed TC? Skip 1 stitch, TC in the next stitch, TC in skipped stitch working behind the previous stitch.
Row 4: 3 CH + 2 DC in the first stitch. Then we make DC stitches until the top of the shawl. Then we make the Shell (2 DC + 2 chains + 2 DC) on the top of the shawl. After the Shell, we make DC stitches until the last stitch of the row. We make 3 DC in the last stitch. Turn your work.
Rows 5 -39: repeat rows 3-4
Edges – we make one round of shell stitches
CH, SC, *skip 2 st, 6DC Shell, skip 2 st, SC* repeat entire rnd
