You can see step-by-step instructions and a video tutorial on how to crochet very easy fingerless gloves. It’s a very easy and fast project for beginners.

You will need:

I used yarn approximately 100 g – 3.5 Oz

Hook Size 3.75 mm (US F/5, UK 9)

Terminology:

sts – stitches

sl.st = slip stitch

CH – chain stitch

SC – single crochet

SCBLO – single crochet back loop only

Instructions:

Gloves edging

First I’m going to make Gloves edging

To begin make 22 chains.

Row 1: skip CH and make SC one in every chain across. Total 21 SCs.

Rows 2 – 30: CH one and turn; make SC in the back loop only (SCBLO) in every stitch across

Total 21 SCBLOs11,5 cm / 4.5 inches

Total 30 Rows17 cm / 6.6 inches

Gloves edging is very stretchy.

If you need a different size, make more or fewer rows. Measure on your hands.

Row 1: make Single crochet stitches (SC). One row one loop (30 rows = 30 SC stitches). Slip stitch to the first st just to close the round.

Now, we’re going to crochet around the gloves.

Rnd 2: In this row add 2 more stitches (one stitch at the beginning and one at the end of the row).

CH one and make 2 SCs in the first stitch. Make SC one in every stitch across except the last stitch. 2 SCs in the last st. Total 32 sts.  Slip stitch to the first st just to close the round.

Rnd 3: CH one and make SC one in every stitch across. Total 32 sts. Slip stitch to the first st. just to close the round.

Rnd 4: In this row add 2 more stitches (one stitch at the beginning and one at the end of the row).

CH one and make 2 SCs in the first stitch. Make SC one in every stitch across except the last stitch. 2 SCs in the last st. Total 34 sts. Slip stitch to the first st just to close the round.

Repeating 3 – 4 rows until you have done a total of 8 rows

Rnd 5: CH one and make SC one in every stitch across. Total 34 sts.  Slip stitch to the first st. just to close the round.

Rnd 6: In this row add 2 more stitches (one stitch at the beginning and one at the end of the row).

CH one and make 2 SCs in the first stitch. Make SC one in every stitch across except the last stitch. 2 SCs in the last st. Total 36 sts. Slip stitch to the first st just to close the round.

Rnd 7: CH one and make SC one in every stitch across. Total 36 sts. Slip stitch to the first st. just to close the round.

Rnd 8: In this row add 2 more stitches (one stitch at the beginning and one at the end of the row).

Sew Gloves edging with yarn and sewing needle.
Make both gloves in the same way.
