You will need:

Terminology:

st – stitch

CH – chain stitch

sl.st – slip stitch
DC – double crochet stitch (yarn over the hook once)

Instructions:

To begin, make chains (multiple of 2) 2+2+2+2…

Row 1: skip 3 chains and make 2 double crochet stitches (DC) in the fourth chain, skip one CH, 2 DC in one CH, *skip CH one, 2 DC in one CH *repeat to the end of the row except the last two chains,  skip CH one and make DC in the last CH.

Row 2:  CH one and turn your work and make sl.st. in every stitch across

Row 3: CH 3 and turn, 2 DC in the next st, *skip st, 2 DC in one st *repeat to the end of the row except the last two sts,  skip st. and make DC in the last st.

Row 4:  CH one and turn your work and make sl.st. in every stitch across
