Terminology:
st – stitch
CH – chain stitch
HDC – half double crochet st
DC – double crochet stitch (yarn over the hook once)
Puff stitch – represents a group of 3 incomplete stitches around the basic double crochet. When you finish crocheting the partial stitches you will then close the stitch by pulling the yarn through all of the loops that are remaining on the hook.
Instructions:
To begin, make chains (multiple of 2).
Row 1: skip chain and make HDC in the second chain, HDC in every chain across.
Row 2: CH 2 and turn, DC in the next st, make a puff stitch around the basic DC, *skip st, DC in the next st, make a puff stitch around the basic DC *repeat, DC in the last st.
Row 3: CH one and turn, HDC in every stitch across
