412 – Quick and Easy Crochet Lace Sweater – Easy Tutorial

This easy crochet sweater is very cozy and comfy to wear. This sweater is crocheted in 4 panels – front, back, and 2 sleeves and uses 2 different stitches – single crochet stitches, and double crochet stitches.
You will need:
Cotton Yarn 400 g / 840 m / 920 yds
Ball (100 g – 3.53 Oz) 210 m – 230 yds
Hook Size 5,5 mm (US I/9, UK 5)
Size: M
Width: 50 cm / 19.7 in
Length: 48 cm / 19 in
Terminology:
st = stitch
sts = stitches
sl.st = slip stitch
Incr – increase
CH = chain stitch
SC = single crochet stitch
DC = double crochet (yarn over the hook once)
Instructions:
FRONT
To begin make 63 chains (multiple of 3) for size M
If you want a different size you can make more or fewer chains.
Row 1: skip CH and make SC one in every chain across. Total 62 SCs.
Row 2: CH one and turn; make SC one in every stitch across. Total 62 SCs.
Row 3: turn and make SC in the first st, and make another SC in an already-made SC (from one thread). It’s a first stitch; DC in the next st, CH, skip st, DC one in the next two sts, *CH, skip st, DC one in the next two sts *repeat to the end of the row
Row 4: turn and make SC in the first st, and make another SC in an already-made SC (from one thread). It’s a first stitch; DC in the next st, CH, skip chain space, DC one in the next two sts, *CH, skip chain space, DC one in the next two sts *repeat to the end of the row
Row 4 = Pattern
Rows 5-30: Repeat Row 4
If you want, you can make more rows to make the sweater longer.
Rows 31-32: make SC stitches
If you want, you can make more rows to make the blouse longer.
FRONT = BACK
Use your yarn and sew the front and back pieces on the shoulders (12 stitches / 8cm / 3.2 inches)
My shoulder part is small, but, you can make it as you like (longer or shorter)
Sleeves
Measure about 20 cm / 7.9 inches (12 rows of lace pattern) from the top of the shoulders and put the stitch marker.
If you are doing a larger size make wider sleeves.
Row 1: Make single crochet stitches (SC). One row of lace pattern – make two SC sts (12 rows = 24 stitches); On the top of the shoulders (SC rows), make 3 SC sts; Continue to make SC sts. to the next stitch marker – one row of lace pattern – make two SC sts (12 rows = 24 stitches)
There will be a total of 51 SC sts. (multiple of 3) in this first row (24+3+24)
Connect with a slip stitch.
Row 2: SC 2, DC in the first st; CH, skip st, DC one in the next two sts, *CH, skip st, DC one in the next two sts *repeat this process; CH, skip st. DC in the last st; connect with a slip stitch.
Row 3: SC 2, DC in the first st, CH, skip chain space, DC one in the next two sts, *CH, skip chain space, DC one in the next two sts *repeat this process; CH, skip chain space, DC in the last st. connect with a slip stitch.
Rows 4 – 16: repeat row 3
(24cm/9.4 inches)
Rows 17 – 32: Increase 1 more stitch in every row.
Once at the beginning of the row and the second time at the end of the row and so alternately.
Repeat row 3
(25 cm / 9.8 in)
Rows 33-34: (No more increase) make SC stitches
The sleeve length is 50 cm / 19.7 inches
Adjust the length of the sleeves to your arms.
Use your yarn and sew the front and back pieces. Sew from the right side.
