364 – How To Crochet Shell Stitch Pattern for a Shawl

You can see Step by step instructions and a video tutorial on how to crochet an easy Shell stitches pattern. I’m going to make a scarf. To crochet this pattern, you will need to know how to crochet the next stitches: chain stitch, single crochet stitch, double crochet stitch, and Shell stitch.
This pattern can use for a blouse, vest, scarf, poncho, and many other things.

You will need:
You can use any yarn and hook you have or love.

Terminology:

st – stitch
sts – stitches
CH – chain stitch
SC – single crochet stitch
DC – double crochet stitch
Shell – (DC3 + CH2 + DC in one place)

Instructions:

To begin, make chains multiple of 5 + 3

Row 1: skip chain and make SC in every chain across.

Row 2: CH 3 and turn, skip 2 sts, Shell (DC 3 + CH 2 + DC in one stitch), *skip 4 sts, Shell *repeat to the last 3 stitches; skip 2 sts and make DC in the last st.

Row 3: CH 3 and turn; *Shell (DC 3 + CH 2 + DC in two chains space) *repeat to the last stitch; DC in the last st.

Pattern = Row 3
