344 – Crochet Tutorial Single Strapped Slippers

You can see step by step instructions and a video tutorial on how to crochet very simple cute slippers with straps. I used cotton yarn. They are very comfortable. This is a very simple crochet pattern worked primarily using double crochet and single crochet stitches.

You will need:
I used Cotton Yarn about 100 g / 240 m/ 262 yds
Ball (50g) contains 120 m/ 131 yds
Hook Size 3.5 mm (US E/4, UK 9)

Size: Adults – 24 cm / 9.5 inches
Size of shoes:
EUR & CN = 38-40
US = 6.5 – 7.5
UK = 4.5 – 5.5

Terminology:
st – stitch
CH – chain stitch
SC – single crochet 
DC – double crochet
DC3tog – DC 3 together
SC2tog – SC 2 together

Instructions:

To begin make 4 chains in a circle.

Row 1: 2 chains and make 13 double crochet sts (DC) into the center; Slip stitch to the first st just to close the round; Total 13 DCs.
Row 2: CH 2 (don’t count as a loop), DC 2 in the first stitch, DC 2 in every stitch across; Slip stitch to the first st just to close the round. Total 26 DCs.
Row 3: Add an extra 9 loops.
CH 2, DC in the first stitch, DC 2 in the next stitch, *DC in the next two stitches, DC 2 in one stitch *repeat to the end row. Slip stitch to the first st just to close the round. Total 35 DCs.
Rows 4 – 12: without adding stitches
CH 2, DC in the first st, DC in every stitch across. Slip stitch to the first st just to close the round. Total 35 DC.
Rows 1 – 12 = 12 cm / 4.6 inches
Measure your work and try it on your foot.

For longer or shorter slippers, do a few rows more or less.

Measure 6 stitches. Put the stitch markers between them. Make 29 stitches from one stitch marker to another.
Rows 13 – 22: CH 2, DC in the first st, DC in every stitch across. Total 29 DC. Turn your work.
For longer or shorter slippers, do a few rows more or less.

Row 23: 2 CH, DC in the next 13 sts, DC3tog, DC in the next 13 sts.

Now, we are going to make an edge around the slipper. Make one row of single crochet stitches (1 row = SC 2). SC2tog in a corner.
Then, connect a heel with a sewing needle.

Make one strap (just SC stitches).
First SC in the 5th stitch
Rows 1 – 12: CH, SC 5
Length: 6 cm / 2.4 in
Width: 2 cm / 0.7 in
For a longer or shorter strap, do a few rows more or less.
Measure your work and try it on your foot.

Connect a strap with a sewing needle.
