292 – How to Crochet Lace Cardigan with Sleeves – Honeycomb stitch Tutorial

You will need:

Hook Size 3.5 mm
Cotton Yarn 350 g / 875 m / 959 yds
(7 balls of cotton yarn. Each ball contains 137 yds / 125 m)

Terminology:
st – stitch
CH – chain stitch
SC – single crochet
HDC – half double crochet
DC – double crochet (yarn over the hook once)
TC – treble crochet (yarn over the hook twice)

Size: L

Width = 51 cm / 20 in Length = 40 cm / 15.6 in

Instructions:

(FRONT + BACK)

I’m going to make 165 chains (for size L). Multiple of 5.

If you need a different size, feel free to either add or subtract from this chain number.
You can easily customize a blouse to your liking.
See the number of chains for other sizes

Different sizes:
XS = 145 chains
S = 150 chains
M = 155 chains
L = 165 chains
XL = 175, 180 chains
XXL = 185, 190 – chains

Multiple of 5 for all sizes.

Row 1: skip 3 chains (CH 3 as first st); double crochet stitch (DC) entire row; Total 163 st. Turn your work
Row 2: CH one; single crochet (SC) into the first st., SC entire row; Total 163 SCs.Turn your work.
Row 3: CH 3 (as first st); DC entire row; Total 163 st. Turn your work.

Row 4: CH 3 (as first st), DC in the next two sts, *CH 2, skip 2 sts, DC 3 *repeat to the end row

Row 5: chain, SC 2, DC 5 in the chain two space, skip DC, SC, *DC 5 in the next chain two space, skip DC, SC *repeat this process; skip DC one and make SC 2 .

Row 6: CH 5, skip 2 sts, DC 3, *CH 2, skip 3 sts, DC 3 *repeat this process, CH 2, skip 2 sts, DC in the last stitch.

Row 7: CH 3, DC 3 in the chain two space, skip DC one, SC, *DC 5 in the next chain two space, skip DC one, SC *repeat this process; DC 3 in the last chain space, DC in the third chain.

Row 8: CH 3, DC in the next two st, *CH 2, skip 3 sts, DC 3 *repeat to the end row.

Pattern = Rows 5 – 8
Repeat Pattern

Rows 9 – 24 = Repeat Rows 5 – 8

If you want, you can make more rows to make the cardigan longer.

Mark front and back pieces.
Count 33 stitches (17cm /6.7 in) from the beginning of the row and put the first marker (1/2 of the front part). Repeat this on the other side.
Continue working the back and front parts.

½ Front: repeat pattern four times (16 rows)
Row 17: CH 3, DC entire row. Total 33 stitches (Multiple of 5 + 3).

Back: repeat pattern four times (16 rows)
Row 17: CH 3, DC entire row. Total 93 stitches (Multiple of 5 + 3).

Join the shoulder parts with a needle and yarn.

Edges
Row 1: SC stitches (3 rows of DCs – two stitches; 1 row of SC – one stitch)
Row 2: chain one and HDC entire row
Row 3: chain one, SC 2, *CH 2, SC 2 *repeat entire row

If you don’t want sleeves, work the edge around the armhole in the same way.

Sleeves
Row 1: CH3, DC entire row; Join with a slip stitch.
Rows 2 – 10: CH4, TC entire row; Join with a slip stitch.
If you want, you can make more rows to make the sleeve longer.
Edges
Row 1: chain one and SC entire row
Row 2: chain two and HDC entire row
Row 3: chain one, SC 2, *CH 2, SC 2 *repeat entire row
