254 – Easy Hat Tutorial – Crochet Basic Hat

This is a very simple hat and easy to make. It’s extremely soft and comfortable.
You need to know how to crochet the next stitches: chain stitch, double crochet stitches, Front Post Double Crochet and Back Post Double Crochet stitches

Terminology:
st – Stitch
sl.st – Slip Stitch
Rnd – Round
CH – Chain Stitch
DC – Double Crochet
FPDC (Front Post Double Crochet)
BPDC (Back Post Double Crochet)

You will need:
Hook Size 8 mm
I used 100 g of yarn
Yarn: 50 g 60 m (54,8 yards)

Size: Adults
You can easily customize it to your liking.
To make it larger or smaller all you need to do is alter the number of loops in rows and number of rows! It’s a good idea to measure your work.

Instructions:

To begin make a magic ring.
Rnd 1: CH 3 (as first st), DC 11 into the center of the ring; Connect with a sl.st; Total 12 stitches.
Then, pull yarn as tight as you can to close the circle.
Rnd 2: CH 3 (as first st), DC in the first stitch, *DC in the next st, DC 2 in one stitch *repeat entire row; DC in the last st. Connect with a sl.st; Total 18 stitches.
Rnd 3: CH 3 (as first st), DC in the first stitch, *DC in the next two sts, DC 2 in one stitch *repeat entire row; Connect with a sl.st; Total 24 stitches.
Rnd 4: CH 3 (as first st), DC in the first stitch, *DC in the next three sts, DC 2 in one stitch *repeat entire row; Connect with a sl.st; Total 30 stitches.
Rnd 5: CH 3 (as first st), DC in the first stitch, *DC in the next four sts, DC 2 in one stitch *repeat entire row; Connect with a sl.st; Total 36 stitches.
Rnd 6: CH 3 (as first st), DC in the first stitch, *DC in the next five sts, DC 2 in one stitch *repeat entire row; Connect with a sl.st; Total 42 stitches.
Rnds 7 – 10: CH 3, DC 41; Connect with a sl.st; Total 42 sts
Make 10 rows. If you need a different size, feel free to either add or subtract from the number of rows.
Rnds 11 – 14: Ribbed sts; Alternate between BPDC and FPDC. Total 41 sts
We’ll reduce the number of stitches in row 11.
