255 – DIY Tutorial How to Crochet An Easy Shrug

You will need to know a few basics of crochet for this project.
To crochet this pattern, you will need to know how to 1) crochet a chain 2) crochet a single crochet stitch 3) crochet a double crochet stitch and 4) crochet a treble crochet stitch

You will need:
– I used 350 g yarn
Yarn: 100 g (3.5 oz) / 250 m (273 yards)
50% WOOL / 50% ACRILIC
– Hook Size 5,5 mm
– Scissors
– Tape measure
– Stitch markers
– Sewing needle
Terminology:
st – stitch
CH – chain stitch
SC – single crochet
DC – double crochet (yarn over the hook once)
TC – treble crochet (yarn over the hook twice)
V-st – DC 2 with 4 CH
Size: I’ll show you size Large (L)
Width = 101,5 cm / 40 inches
Length = 96,5 cm / 38 inches
Other sizes (bust measurement)
XS = 71 cm / 28 inches
S = 84 cm / 33 inches
M = 96,5 cm / 38 inches
L = 101,5 cm / 40 inches
XL = 111,5 cm / 44 inches
XXL = 122 cm / 48 inches
Instructions:
To begin, it’s necessary to make a chains. Multiple of 5 + 1
I’m going to make 156 chains (for size L)
If you need a different size, feel free to either add or subtract from this chain number.
Row 1: skip chain 3 (CH 3 as first st); DC in the fourth chain; DC to the end row; Total 154 stitches (CH 3 as first st and 153 double crochet stitches)
Row 2: CH 3, DC in the next st, skip 2 sts, V-st (DC 2 with 4 CH), skip 4 sts, V-st *skip 4 sts, V-st *repeat this process; skip 2 sts and DC in the next 2 st.
Row 3: CH 4, TC in the next st, DC 3 plus CH 1 plus DC 3 in the next V-st, DC 3 + CH 1 + DC 3 in each V-st entire row. TC in the next 2 st
Row 4: CH 3, DC in the next st, V-st in the next chain one space; *V-st in the chain one space*repeat this process; DC in the next 2 st.
Do the first and second rows once. Rows 3 – 4 repeat multiple times
Pattern = Rows 3 – 4
Rows 5 – 50: Repeat Rows 3 – 4
Row 51: CH 3 (as first stitch) and make DC to the end row. Total 154 stitches
If you need a different size, feel free to either add or subtract from this row number.
When you finished, fold your work in half, matching the top to the bottom.
On the side for armhole, measure off about 7,5 inches (18 cm /19 cm) and put the stitch marker.
Sew the sides together, leaving the space for the armholes.
Repeat on the other side, and then try it on.

Row 1: single crochet around the armholes
