179 – DIY Tutorial – Crochet Ribbed Cowl
I showing you how to crochet a very easy ribbed cowl.
This is a very simple crochet pattern worked primarily using double crochet stitches (DC) and single crochet stitches (SC). This ribbed cowl is very warm and soft. Ideal for gifts. It’s easy and great for beginners.

You will need:
Hook Size 8 mm
Scissors
Tape measure
Colorful Yarn 2 x 100g = 200g
2 balls of colorful Yarn. Each ball contains 65 yds/ 60 m
1 m = 1,0936 jardi (yds)
Terminology:
st – Stitch
sk – Skip
CH – Chain Stitch
SC – Single Crochet
DC – Double Crochet
Size:
Width = 34cm / 13,39″ Length = 56cm / 22″
Size after connecting:
Width = 28cm /11″ Length = 36cm / 14,25″
Instructions:
Start 24 chains.
Row 1: skip 3 chains (CH), double crochet (DC) in each of the next 21 chains; Total 22 stitches in this row; Turn your work.
Rows 2-16: SC + 2 chains; DC in the back loops in the next 21 stitches; Total 22 stitches in every row; Turn your work.
Total 16 rows.
Width = 34cm / 13,39″ Length = 56cm / 22″
After 16 rows we continue to make one row of bottom edge. Alternate between of SC and 4DCShell stitches. Fold your work in half matching the top to the bottom and connect two sides with slip stitches. Then we make one row of top edge. Just single crochet stitches.
Size after connecting: Width = 28cm /11″ Length = 36cm / 14,25″
