Length = 45 cm / 17.7 in
Terminology:
st – stitch
CH – chain stitch
SC – single crochet
DC – double crochet

Instruction:
We’ll first make Panel 1
Panel 1
To begin, chain 165 or any multiple of 6 + 3
165 chains = 86 cm / 34 in
The number of chains determines the length of the bolero.
If you want, you can make more chains to make the bolero longer.
Row 1: skip 3 chains and make a double crochet stitch (DC) in every chain across. Total 163 stitches
Row 2: CH 4 and turn, skip stitch, DC, *chain, skip st, DC *repeat to the end row.
Row 3: CH 3 and turn, *skip 2 sts, DC5Shell, skip 2 sts, DC, *repeat to the end row.
Row 4: CH 4 and turn, skip stitch, DC, *chain, skip st, DC *repeat to the end row.
Row 5: CH 3 and turn, DC in every stitch across. Total 163 stitches.
Pattern = Rows 2 – 5
Continue to repeat rows 2 – 5 in the same way, to be a total of 27 rows.
27 rows = 30 cm / 11.7 in
If you want, you can make more or fewer rows to make the bolero narrower or wider.
The last row must always be shells.
This panel will be left side of the bolero.
Fold panel one in half. On the side where the armhole will be, measure off about 15 cm / 6 inches and put the stitch marker.
On the BACK measure off about 13 cm / 5.2 in and put the stitch marker.
Make Row 1 starting from the bottom to the stitch marker.
Row 1: CH 4, skip stitch, DC, *chain, skip st, DC *repeat to the stitch marker
Row 2: CH 3 and turn, DC in every stitch across.
Panel 1 is done.
Panel 2
Make 27 rows in the same way as in Panel 1.
Fold panel one in half. On the side for the armhole, measure off about 15 cm / 6 inches and put the stitch marker.
On the BACK measure off about 13 cm / 5.2 in and put the stitch marker.
This panel will be right side of the bolero.
Make Row 1 starting from the stitch marker to the bottom.
Row 1: CH 4, skip stitch, DC, *chain, skip st, DC *repeat to the end row.
Panel 2 is done.
Connect two panels at the back and on the side below the armholes.
Use your yarn and sew two pieces together.
When you have done putting all the pieces together you can make a bottom edge.
The bottom edge of the bolero
Use Hook Size 2.5 mm (US C/2, UK 12)
Row 1: CH and make SC 2 in each row across.
Row 2: CH 3 and turn, make DC in each stitch across.
Row 3: CH and make SC in each stitch across.
