FP Puff st – Front Post Puff stitch

How to make a FP Puff stitch?
FP Puff st represents a group of 3 incomplete stitches around the basic double crochet from the previous row. When you finish crocheting the partial stitches you will then close the stitch by pulling the yarn through all of the loops, except for the last. Now, you have 2 loops on the hook. Make one loop from them.

Instructions:
To begin make chain 71 (multiple of 2 plus 1).
To make it larger or smaller all you need to do is alter the beginning chain.

Row 1: skip chain; make single crochet stitches (SC) to the end row. Total 70 SC.
Connect first and last SC with a slip stitch.
We’ll crochet in a circle.
Rnd 2: CH 2; DC in the first stitch; DC to the end row. Connect with a sl st. Total 70 DC.
Rnd 3: CH; SC in the first stitch; FP Puff st in the next st; *SC, FP Puff st *repeat to the end row. Connect with a sl st.
This is the pattern (Rnds 2 – 3)
Rnds 4 – 17: Repeat Pattern 7 times

If you need a different size, feel free to either add or subtract from the number of rows. And try it on your head as well.

We’ll reduce the number of stitches in the next rows (Rnd 18, 20 and 22).

Rnd 18: CH 2, DC2tog, DC, *DC2tog, DC *repeat to the end row. DC in the last stitch. Connect with a sl st.
Rnd 19: CH; SC in the first stitch; FP Puff st in the next st; *SC, FP Puff st *repeat to the end row. Skip last st. Connect with a sl st.

Repeat this process two times.

Rnds 20 – 23: repeat Rnds 18-19

Rnd 20: CH 2, DC2tog, DC, *DC2tog, DC *repeat to the end row. Connect with a sl st.
Rnd 21: CH; SC in the first stitch; FP Puff st in the next st; *SC, FP Puff st *repeat to the end row. Connect with a sl st.
Rnd 22: CH 2, DC2tog, DC, *DC2tog, DC *repeat to the end row. Connect with a sl st.
Rnd 23: CH; SC in the first stitch; FP Puff st in the next st; *SC, FP Puff st *repeat to the end row. Connect with a sl st.

Sew top of beanie with yarn and sewing needle.
Then, pull yarn as tight as you can.
