You will need:
Hook Size 3.5 mm
Black and white colored cotton yarn: 50 g

Size:
Width = 16,5cm / 6,5″
Length = 26,5 cm / 10,5″

Terminology:
st – stitch
sl st – slip stitch
CH – chain stitch
SC – single crochet
Rnd – round, row

Instructions:

Use a white-colored yarn.
Make 30 chains. Measure chains on your device. Check if the length matches.

Rnd 1: skip chain, single crochet stitches (SC) in the next 29 chains. Make 3 SC in the last chain. Continue to make SC on the other side chains. Make 28 SC. Make 2 SC in the last chain. Total 62 SC. Connect with a slip stitch.
Rnd 2: CH, SC in the first stitch, CH, skip st, SC, *CH, skip st, SC *repeat to the end round. Connect with a sl st.
Rnd 3: CH, SC in the first st, SC in a chain space, *CH, skip st, SC in a chain space *repeat to the end round. Connect with a sl st.

Switch to a black-colored yarn.

Rnd 4: CH, SC in the first stitch, CH, skip st, SC in a chain space, *CH, skip st, SC in a chain space *repeat to the end round. Connect with a sl st.
Rnd 5: CH, SC in the first st, SC in a chain space, *CH, skip st, SC in a chain space *repeat to the end round. Connect with a sl st.

Switch to a white-colored yarn.

Repeat Rnds 2 – 5

Last row – just single crochet stitches
