372 – How to Crochet X stitch For a Sweater, Scarf, Blanket, and More

You will need:
You can use any yarn and hook you have or love.
Terminology:
st – stitch
sts – stitches
CH – chain stitch
SC – single crochet stitch
TC – treble crochet (yarn over the hook twice)
FPTC – front post treble crochet stitch
X st – 2 crossed FPTC with SC one
Instructions:
To begin chain multiple of 6 + 4
Row 1: Skip chain and make SC in the second chain. Make one SC in each chain across. Turn your work.
Row 2: CH one and make one SC in each stitch across.
Change color yarn. Turn your work.
Rows 3-4: CH one and make one SC in each stitch across.
Change color yarn. Turn your work.
Row 5: CH one and make one SC in the next three sts.
Now we are going to make X stitch:
– Skip 2 sts and make FPTC in the third st. just three st. down.
– Skip one stitch and make SC in the next st.
– Now we make another FPTC (around the second SC on the right)
Skip one stitch and make SC one in the next 3 sts.
*X st, skip one stitch, and make SC one in the next 3 sts *repeat this until the end of the row
Row 6: CH one and make one SC in each stitch across.
Change color yarn. Turn your work.
Rows 7-8: CH one and make one SC in each stitch across.
Change color yarn. Turn your work.
Row 9: CH one and make one SC in the next 6 sts.
Now we are going to make X stitch:
– Skip 2 sts and make FPTC in the third st. just three st. down.
– Skip one stitch and make SC in the next st.
– Now we make another FPTC (around the second SC on the right)
Skip one stitch and make SC one in the next 3 sts.
*X st, Skip one stitch and make SC one in the next 3 sts *repeat this until you have 6 last sts.
SC one in the last 6 sts.
Row 10: CH one and make one SC in each stitch across.
Change color yarn. Turn your work.
Repeat Rows 3 – 10
Rows 3 – 10 = Pattern
Change color yarn every two rows.
