You will need:
I used 8 balls of yarn (400 g / 800 m / 872 yds)
Ball Weight: 50g (medium)
Yarn Length: 100 m (109 yds)
Hook Size 5 mm (US 8)

Size:
Width: 41cm / 16 inches
Length: 152 cm / 60 inches

Terminology:
st – stitch
sl.st – slip stitch
CH – chain stitch
SC – single crochet
DC – double crochet (yarn over the hook once)
Shell – 5 DC Shell with chain 3 space (DC 4 + CH 3 + DC in one stitch)

Instructions:
Chain any multiple of 5 plus 4
I’m going to make chain 64 (multiple of 5 + 4)

Row 1: skip 5 chains and make Shell in the sixth chain; Shell = DC 4 + CH 3 + DC in one chain; skip CH 4, Shell, *skip CH 4, Shell *repeat this process; when you make the last shell you will have 3 chains to the end of the row, skip 2 chains and make a double crochet (DC) in the last chain. Turn your work.
Row 2: CH 3; make a Shell in the third chain; *make a Shell in the next third chain *repeat this process; after the last shell in this row, make DC in the fourth DC; Turn your work.

Repeat Row 2
Row 2 = Pattern
Repeat the pattern until you do 150 cm / 59 inches

If you need a different size, feel free to either add or subtract from this row number.

Before the last row: CH 5, SC, CH 2, DC, *CH 2, SC, CH 2, DC *repeat to the end row
Last row: CH, SC in the first st, SC 2 in the chain two space, SC over SC, SC 2 in the chain two space, *skip DC, SC 2 in the chain two space, SC over SC, SC 2 in the chain two space *repeat this process; SC in the third chain
We continue to make single crochet stitches on all edges of the shawl.
Make 2 rows.
In the corners make SC+CH+SC
Finish each row with a slip stitch.

Pocket

I made chain 34 (multiple of 5 + 4)

Row 1: skip 5 chains and make Shell in the sixth chain; Shell = DC 4 + CH 3 + DC in one chain; skip CH 4, Shell, *skip CH 4, Shell *repeat this process; when you make the last shell you will have 3 chains to the end of the row, skip 2 chains and make a double crochet (DC) in the last chain. Turn your work.
Row 2: CH 3; make a Shell in the third chain; *make a Shell in the next third chain *repeat this process; after the last shell in this row, make DC in the fourth DC; Turn your work.

Rows 3 – 9: repeat Row 2

Row 10: CH 5, SC, CH 2, DC, *CH 2, SC, CH 2, DC *repeat to the end row
Rows 11 – 13: Single crochet stitches

Attach the pocket to the scarf (with pins) and then sew it with a needle and yarn.
