268 – Easy Crochet Scarf Tutorial

You can see step by step instructions and video tutorial how to crochet very simple scarf.
You need to know how to crochet chain stitch (CH), double crochet stitch (DC), DC 3 together stitches (DC3tog).

You will need:
Hook Size 3,5 mm
Cotton Yarn 200 g / 500 m / 548 yds (4 balls of cotton yarn. Each ball contains 137 yds / 125 m)

Size:    Width = 18 cm / 7 in      Length = 180 cm / 71 in

Terminology:
st – stitch
CH – chain stitch
DC – double crochet
DC3tog – DC 3 together
DC 2 in one stitch

Instructions:

To begin make 38 chains (multiple of 11 + 5).
If you need a different size, feel free to either add or subtract from this chain number (multiple of 11 + 5).

Row 1: skip 4 chains and make DC 2 into the fifth chain; CH one, skip CH, DC, CH, skip CH, *DC3tog, CH, skip CH, DC, CH, skip CH, DC 2 in one chain, CH 2, DC 2 in the next chain, CH, skip CH, DC, CH, skip CH *repeat this process; DC3tog, CH, skip CH, DC, CH, skip CH, DC 2 in one st, CH, DC in the last st. Turn your work.

Row 2: CH 4, DC 2 in the next chain one space, CH, DC in the next chain one space, CH, *DC3tog, CH, DC in the next chain one space, CH, DC 2 + CH 2 + DC 2 in the next chain two space, CH, DC in the next chain one space, CH *repeat this process; DC3tog, CH, DC in the next chain one space, CH, DC 2 + CH + DC in the last chain space. Turn your work.

Rows 3 – 4: dark orange-colored yarn
