You can use any yarn and hook you have or love.

I used:
Hook Size 3,5 mm
Yarn 250 g
5 balls of beige cotton yarn
Each ball contains 126 yds / 115 m

Terminology:
st – Stitch
CH – Chain Stitch
SC – Single Crochet
DTC – Double Treble Crochet (yarn over the hook three times)

Size:
Width = 16,5 cm / 6.5 inches
Length = 140 cm / 55 inches

Instructions:

Make 35 chains. This pattern requires that the number of chains be divisible by 6 + 5 (Multiple of 6 plus 5).

Row 1:
Skip 1 chain and make 34 single crochet stitches. Total 34 SC (Multiple of 6 plus 4). Turn your work.
Row 2: chain one and make 34 SC to the end row. Total 34 SC. Turn your work.
Row 3: CH 5, DTC (Double Treble Crochet – yarn over the hook three times), skip 3 stitches, make DTC in the next 3 st., DTC into the first skipped stitch, DTC into the second skipped stitch, DTC into the third skipped stitch, *skip 3 st, DTC in the next 3 st., DTC 3 into the skipped stitches * repeat to the last 2 stitches, DTC in the last two loops. Turn your work.
Row 4: CH one and make SC to the end row. Total 34 SC.

Repeat Rows 3 – 4

    Good afternoon! Love this pattern and wish to make it as a stole, 20″W X 70″L.
    It is worked across the width until you reach the necessary length, correct?

    I am going to use Wolltraum Moon Glow 4 ply. With a metallic gold thread that was worked in upon order. It is extremely fine, though 4 ply.
    Can you please tell me if me if my children length of 105 is proper for the 20″ width I need?
    So grateful for your advice.
    Thank you so much!

    In the second row, is the cheapest 1 considered 1st sc?

    Row 3 in written pattern say to check 5, skip 3 stitches and DTC into next 3 stitches.
    Your video tutorial shows you choose 5, DTC in next chapter space and THEN skip 3 and DTC in next 3. May want to correct that in written pattern.
