Important to you:
The seam is now crooked, but in order to keep it straight we will add a slip stitch to the beginning of each row, starting with row 14.
This is done in order to keep the seam straight.

Rnd 26: We make a pocket hole in this row.
Mark central stitch of the front of the handbag. Count over 10 stitches to the right and 10 stitches to the left side and put the marker in this places. There are 20 stitches between first and last markers.
Make HDC stitches to the first marker. Then, make chains 20, skip 20 stitches and continue to do HDC to the end round.
Rnd 27: CH2; Make Crossed DC stitches to the end round. Total 52 crossed DC st
Rnds 28-30: CH2, HDC to the end round. Connect with a SSt. Total 104 st.
Rnd 31: CH2; Make Crossed DC stitches to the end round. Total 52 crossed DC st
Rnds 32-34: CH2; HDC to the end round. Connect with a SSt. Total 104 st.

Make a pocket.

Row 1: CH2, one HDC in the next 20 stitches. Turn your work.
Row 2: CH3; Two DC in the next stitch. One DC in the next 18 stitches. DC 2 in the last stitch. Total 22 DC stitches. Turn your work.
Row 3-15: CH3; DC to the end row. Total 22 DC stitches.
Use yarn and sewing needle and sew a pocket.
Sew a button on to the front of the bag.

Make a strap.

Lay your bag on the table and put one stitch marker in one corner and another stitch marker in the other corner. Count over 13 stitches from the marker. Connect your yarn in this place and make 26 HDC stitches across.
Row 1: Chain one and do one HDC in same stitch. Then do one HDC in the next 25 stitches. Turn your work.
Row 2: CH 1, skip the first stitch and do one HDC in the next 24 stitches. Skip last stitch. Turn your work.
Row 3: CH 1, skip the first stitch and do one HDC in the next 22 stitches. Skip last stitch. Turn your work.
Continue this process on each row. You will do this until you end up with a row containing 6 HDC stitches.
Now we have a row with just 6 HDC on it. Continue to do 6 HDC on each row.
I made 20 more HDC rows for my strap. It’s up to you to determine how many rows you wont to make for the strap.
Once you’ve completed the first side strap, You’ll repeat the process for the other side.
Once both straps are completed, use your yarn and sew the two straps together at the top.
Connect your yarn anywhere you wish and just evenly do SC stitches around the bag inner edging.
You’ll repeat the process for the back side.
