You can see Step by step instruction and video tutorial how to crochet a headband. This is a very simple crochet pattern. This would be a great choice for a beginner.
You need to know how to crochet Chain Stitch, Single Crochet, Double Crochet and Half Double Crochet stitches.

You will need:

Hook Size 6 mm
Scissors
Tape measure
Sewing needle
Button
½ Ball of colorful Yarn.
Ball contains 100 g, 131 yds/ 120 m
1 m = 1,0936 jardi (yds)

Size: 

Width = 10cm / 4″  Length = 61 cm / 24″

Terminology:

st – Stitch
CH – Chain Stitch
SC – Single Crochet
DC – Double Crochet
HDC – Half Double Crochet
2DCShell – 2 DC in one stitch
DC2tog – 2 DC together

Instructions:

Make 7 chains.
Row 1: skip 2 chains (CH); Half Double Crochet (HDC) in the next 5 CH; Turn your work.
Row 2: Make Single Crochet (SC) and one CH (first stitch); HDC in the next 4 st; Total 5 stitches (st). Turn your work.
Rows 3-6: repeat Row 2
Row 7: SC and two CH (first stitch); 2DCShell (three times); DC; Total 8 st; Turn your work.
Row 8: SC and two CH (first stitch); DC in the next 7 st; Total 8 st; Turn your work.
Row 9: SC and two CH (first stitch); 2DCShell in the next st; DC in the next 4 st; 2DCShell in the next st; DC in the last st; Total 10 st; Turn your work.
Row 10: SC and two CH (first stitch); DC in the next 9 st; Total 10 st; Turn your work.
Row 11: SC and two CH (first stitch); 2DCShell in the next st; DC in the next 6 st; 2DCShell in the next st; DC in the last st; Total 12 st; Turn your work.
Rows 12 – 18: SC and two CH (first stitch); DC in the next 11 st; Total 12 st; Turn your work.
Lenght = 30,5 cm/ 12 “
Rows 19 – 36: Now we work the pattern as a mirror reflection. Where we worked 2DCSell stitches, now we are doing DC2tog stitches.
Rows 19 – 25: SC and two CH (first stitch); DC in the next 11 st; Total 12 st; Turn your work.
Row 26: SC and two CH (first stitch); DC2tog; DC in the next 6 st; DC2tog; DC in the last st; Total 10 st; Turn your work.
Row 27: SC and two CH (first stitch); DC in the next 9 st; Total 10 st; Turn your work.
Row 28: SC and two CH (first stitch); DC2tog; DC in the next 4 st; DC2tog; DC in the last st; Total 8 st; Turn your work.
Row 29: SC and two CH (first stitch); DC in the next 7 st; Total 8 st; Turn your work.
Row 30: SC and two CH (first stitch); DC2tog (three times); DC in the last st; Total 5 st; Turn your work.
Rows 31 – 36: SC and one CH (first stitch); HDC in the next 4 st; Total 5 st. Turn your work.
Row 37: SC, 3CH, SC

To repeat:
Increase number of stitches: Rows 7, 9 and 11
Decrease number of stitches: Rows 26, 28 and 30
